Should the recharge stop working in 75 days?
I assumed that this rechargeable toothbrush might be rechargeable for 18 months to 2 years, which makes it a fine value at the roughly $15 price. However, over the past 3 days, the unit has started to slow and stop after about 90 seconds of brushing — and NOT because I am applying any unusual pressure. It just slows in the last 5 seconds and quits. Pressing the “on” button again results in another 15 seconds of SLOW brushing and quitting again. I have handled the unit properly, rinsing and drying with a hand towel before placing it back in the charger base. Unless I hear differently, I’m reverting to the Oral-B equivalent.

Charger: I bought the spinbrush in August ’07 and its charger just stopped working today (July ’09). At first I thought something had malfunctioned, but after reading some other reviews, I found that this is to be expected after over a year of use. The stand is wired and does require a nearby outlet for nightly charging, but I have taken the spinbrush on 2-3 day trips without the charger stand, and it has retained enough of a charge to work throughout the trip. One thing to note is to dry your brush handle with a towel after each use as the charger stand can get kind of yucky inside if you don’t.
Brush: The dual-brush head provides both circular and back-and-forth strokes which provides a larger surface area than alternative brushes that only have the circular head. While being a fine product considering its value, don’t expect this model to last more than a couple of years.
