Is The Sonicare Elite 7300 A Good Toothbrush?
Q: I am thinking of buying one.
A: Yes! Both Sonicare and Oral B make a very good electric toothbrush. Some of the advantages of an electric toothbrush is its ability to get between the teeth and under the gum line. Also using an electric brush is beneficial for olderly people and children (espesially if they have braces) because their manual dexterity may not be as good. Sonicare has a good timer feature that ensures that you are brushing for the proper amount of time. Most people brush there teeth for under 1 minute. I guess if you want to brush you teeth as fast as the person who previously answered, then that would be ok. On average, you should be spending at least 2 minutes brushing your teeth. As for the previous comment about using an inexpensive toothbrush, it is true, an inexpensive toothbrush can do an effective job; if used correctly. As for the comment about using a hard bristled brush over a soft one – WRONG! Brushing with a hard bristle or brushing too aggressively will lead to wearing away of gum tissue and vital tooth structure. If you are interested in needing lots of fillings to cover worn root surfaces or painful gum grafts – feel free to use a hard bristle. This is important also when using an electric brush, be careful not to using it in a scrubbing motion like a manual brush. Let it do the work for you, you just guide it to where you want it to go. Using it in a scrubbing motion can cause excessive wear as well. If you have any questons on how to use it, bring it to your Dentist and they will show you how to use it properly!
