Designer Toothbrush
In the bathroom of the decoration, which an interior designer do?
Q: I am trying to redecorate my master bath for a more 'real'. I was thinking blue and gold, but can not find sets that are Navy! In trying to coordinate toiletries Do not match the towels with the shower curtain or carpeting? And the covers match the accessories (ie, toothbrush holder, soap dish, etc) or match with the walls? I have an old bathroom so you need a lot of renovation. We live on a military base so you can not paint … I just want you my bathroom feel better to come, not to reject me as it does now! 
A: You have trouble finding the navy and gold because colors are not considered "fashionable" at the time. The color schemes tend to be very fashionable and current trends are neutral earth tones (brown, khaki, olive, terracotta, warm gray) and deep in pastel shades (Aqua, green leaf, pale yellow) for the most part. Overall, I think it's better to have only one main component is modeled and the rest must be solid color – too "Matchy-Matchy" seems hokey. Or make a shower curtain or rug (s) a color design or several designs and have towels and solid color accessories. Or, if you like towels printed, make sure the shower curtains and carpets are coordinating solids. Simple is the most elegant and relaxing in the bath with lots of accessories demanding anyway. Go to quality and not quantity. Get thick, soft cotton towels and thick pile carpets. Since there is no mention of the wall colors and accessories can not really advise you on color scheme. Honestly, I would avoid the navy and gold is not because they are "fashionable", but for two reasons: one, dark colors make a bathroom look closed and narrow and, two, of any color in the bathroom will be reflected indirectly in your face when you are preparing in the mirror. It reflects blue and gold does not flatter your skin – in fact, it will look a little sick, if there are large areas near the mirror (like a shower curtain). There are tons of magazines on the racks of bookstore bathroom designs on them. Purchase one up and go through it to find designs that appeal to you and use those photos as a template for the selection of its decoration. A picture is worth a thousand words.
