Each day, patients ask me "what kind of toothbrush should I use" or "Can you recommend a thread dental?
Well, here are the ten things on my list
- Dental floss. All are good, but one of my favorites is "Reach Dental Floss waxed or mint called "whitening" just for flavor. Remember that "you do not have to floss all your teeth … only those who want to keep! "

- Tongue cleaner or scraper daily use is essential to ensure fresh breath. These work much better than brushing the tongue. We give all our patients that I developed called "Breath-So-Fresh". Some pharmacies now have a few different in stock and must try several, as all languages are a little different. Find one that reaches the posterior third of the tongue and not very sharp, but still effective.
- Mouthwash. Most of my patients do not. I have published recently on the controversy surrounding oral cancer and heavy alcohol rinses. In some cases recommend 0.12% chlorhexidine Curasept no staining toothpaste and mouthwash. More on that soon.
- Toothpaste. I dislike the most expensive with a large quantity of ingredients. All you need is a mild abrasive and fluoride. I like Colgate Anti-Cavity Fluorigard Great Regular Flavor.
- Plaque disclosing tablets. If the little chewing tablets and all their teeth as they rose still exist. Indeed, the rose is the badge that you missed. New pills available are displayed in the old blue plate.
- Timer. You can not brush effectively in less than 2 minutes regardless of technique. It feels like an eternity, but is just 2 minutes!
